THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT - PIETY

1.Wisdom; Understanding; Counsel; Fortitude; Knowledge

#6 PIETY
Piety Meaning and Definition

(n.) Veneration or reverence of the Supreme Being, and love of his character; loving obedience to the will of God, and earnest devotion to his service.

(n.) Duty; dutifulness; filial reverence and devotion; affectionate reverence and service shown toward parents, relatives, benefactors, country, etc.

If you would have asked for my definition of Piety, I probably have said something
like someone walking around with their hands folded in front of them in a chapel or the equivalent. I know of a young man who has been "called" into the ministry, and
I see him in church looking somewhat this way. Now this may be perfectly right
and OK, but my perception is somewhat different, which could be bad!

My definition says for piety-  love of GOD as a Father, and obey Him because we
love Him, (not much different from above.)
I believe after we become a believer, we do love God, even though it is
a different type of love than we are used to. I think it is a deep feeling inside
us we cannot fully explain. But from this "feeling", we want to do what He says.

Thank you God, our faith is something scientists cannot explain, and we do
not have to be concerned about their relentless search trying to explain, or disclaim the existence of our GOD.

People: please search for God in your life. Submit your will to His will, and
receive His "faith" in your heart. Fellowship with Him through the Holy Spirit,
and don't be concerned about somebody trying to define God's presence in your
life.

GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT -KNOWLEDGE-

1. Wisdom
2. Understanding
3. Counsel
4. Fortitude
5. Knowledge - enables us to discover the will of God in all things:

They say knowledge is power. Ah ha, a gift from God's Holy Spirit is power!
Knowing things is a power, especially if not everyone knows these things!
The Holy Spirit within us has all power and knowledge, therefore we can have
the knowledge the Holy Spirit gives us, as we submit ourselves to Him. The more
time we spend with the Holy Spirit, the more knowledge we gain from Him.

I, in my times with the Holy Spirit, have gained some knowledge, that can come
from no other one. Of course I do not have all knowledge and sometimes I
doubt some of my knowledge I have received, but I should not. Again one of
my favorite phrases - God will do all that He says He will do. Then I should
not doubt.

Establish a relationship with the Holy Spirit, and you will find a wonderful
time you get together!

God, what is man that you care about
him? We were created in Your image
and You want to share Your KNOWLEDGE
with us.

4.       FORTITUDE -  Strengthen us to do the will of God in all things

Really? Remember shortly after you were "saved",  you were afraid your best friends would notice something
different about you, and what would you say? Tell them about it, or deny anything was different.
Or you were with your friends and they were acting not like a Christian would. Would you say something
or just let it pass, or speak out against that kind of living?
I believe after you submit yourself to the Holy Spirit within you, You gain the ability to meet such
situations with courage to speak up, and tell others what you believe to be the thing to do
or how we as Christians should act. Actually we now have the desire to take the lead in situations with
friends and others, and show them how a Christian should think and act.

It becomes natural to us and others notice our actions and ask us why. This gives opportunity to tell
them about our God.

Our God, we thank you for Your Holy Spirit you
have given to us. Let us enjoy Your presence
and receive Your strength. In Jesus' name.     Amen

Mr Bill
