THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

1. Wisdom
                    2. Understanding
                                                    3. COUNSEL

COUNSEL  The Holy Spirit warns us of the deceits of the devil, and the dangers of salvation:

At first I thought we always new right from wrong even before salvation. But the counsel of the Holy Spirit goes
much deeper than that. Not only do we get from the Spirit what is right and wrong, there are many "cloudy areas"
that we have to deal with. Some things may seem alright, and we may do them, but we always have a feeling something is not right. Things that will not keep us from heaven, but things that will keep us from enjoying the Gifts of the Spirit.
I can testify to this myself. I was doing something not quite right and when I put an end to it, I began to enjoy
The Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Have you ever wondered your salvation? I have and I believe we all have. When we get all sin, that we can control, out
of our lives, the Spirit is then free to counsel us. I am very sure the devil is trying all the time to discourage our
relationship with the Holy Spirit.

Dear God, help us with our relationship with You. Counsel us as to what we should be doing, thinking and saying.
Amen

THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

1. Wisdom - desire for the things of God, and to direct our whole life and all our actions to His honor and glory

2. Understanding - enable us to know more clearly the mysteries of faith

This is a good one. I have found that fellowship with the Holy Spirit is the way to find the TRUTH of this gift
and all gifts.
One problem I have and I assume it is general, is to doubt it when I feel I understand a mystery of The Faith.
For example, I feel I have some understanding of Creation and evolution, and how they may have worked together.
But then I have these feelings of, why should I know this? It is a mystery since the beginning of science. I have to
realize and make myself KNOW that what God says He will do, He will do!
God says He will enable us to understand these mysteries, AND HE WILL!

I believe every time we want communication with the Holy Spirit, we need to confess our sins first, and ask Him
to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, and create a NEW spirit within us. Therefore we are free of sin and God doesn't
hear much of what we say if we are living in sin!!! Again, what God says He will do, He will do. Remember this!
I ask you - begin to fellowship with the HOLY SPIRIT.

THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

1. Wisdom - a desire for the things of God, and to direct our
whole life and all our actions to His honor and glory

What is God?  We are told in the Bible that God is Spirit. Well then, what is Spirit?  I believe the realm of things
is the spirit of darkness and the spirit of light; the spirit of good and the spirit of bad, the spirit of love and
the spirit of hatred and so on, and on, and on. I think God represents all things good and satan represents all
things bad. And I believe there is much much more to this. God is more indescribable than we can think.

If we have received the Holy Spirit (which is God) we can quiet our spirit and ask the Holy Spirit to teach us
things of and about Himself. Once I learned to do this I have learned things I never thought about before.
I can hear the Spirit showing me things about Himself and God. I can "reason" things that make sense
to me about God, and the Holy Spirit.
It is getting to the place where every time I quiet myself I want to talk to the Holy Spirit, whether I am just
relaxing or going to bed. I always ask God to cleanse me of all unrighteousness and to make a clean spirit
within me. I feel then I am qualified to commune with the Holy Spirit!

Holy Spirit give us Wisdom so we desire all things of God,
and show us You and the Father, through Jesus Christ
Your Son.       Amen

The Patience of God

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling for you and for me.
See, on the portals He's waiting and watching,
Watching for you and for me.

Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading,
pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies,
mercies for you and for me?
                                                                                                   Come home, come home,
Ye who are weary, come home.
                                                                                                   Earnestly, tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner come home!            (Will L. Thompson)

People, Jesus has waited so patiently and now in these times of uncertainty, it is time to heed His call and surrender
ourselves unto Him. Whether you have never accepted Him, or have something in your life that you know is not
quite right, it is time to restore your relationship with Him.

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER

My Lord, what a morning!

The lawsuit against the National Day of Prayer was brought in Wisconsin by a group of atheists and agnostics called the Freedom From Religion Foundation, which argued that it violated the separation of church and state.

The Obama administration had argued that the National Day of Prayer was legal because it simply acknowledged the role of religion in the United States, according to the Associated Press. But Crabb wrote that "it is because the nature of prayer is so personal and can have such a powerful effect on a community that the government may not use its authority to try to influence an individuals decision whether and when to pray."
Some members of Congress responded negatively to the ruling; House Republican leader John Boehner deemed it "troubling" and urged the Obama administration to appeal. "It violates both well-established legal precedent and the spirit of the principles on which our nation was founded," he said in a statement. A group called the American Center for Law and Justice, which represented more than 30 members of Congress in the lawsuit, also criticized the decision and vowed appeal.
"The decision undermines the values of religious freedom that America was founded upon," said House Judiciary Committee ranking Republican Lamar Smith. "What's next? Declaring the federal holiday for Christmas unconstitutional?"

In a Tweet, the White House said that regardless of the ruling, the president still "intends to recognize a National Day of Prayer." The decision does not ban the president from issuing a proclamation, the White House said.

Last year, the White House did not hold a service at the White House in conjunction with the National Day of Prayer, as President George W. Bush had; the Los Angeles Times described the Bush-era event as "an ecumenical service in the East Room, a big public endorsement of evangelical Christians." (POLITICAL HOTSHEET)

We as Christians should not have to have a day set aside to pray! If your faith is strong you will pray intermittently every day. Words to God or songs in your heart bring you the "Abundant Living" you want in your heart.

"Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is with in me bless His Holy Name.
He has done great things, He has done great things, He has done great things,
              bless His Holy Name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is with in me, bless His Holy name."                   Andrae Crouch

Oh I want to Know You More:
"Just the time I feel that I've been caught in the mire of self,
Just the time I feel my mind's been bought by worldly wealth.
That's when the breeze begins to blow I know the Spirit's call.
And all my worldly wanderings just melt into His love.

Oh. I want to know You more, deep with in my soul I want to know You.
Oh  I want to know You:: To feel Your heart and know your mind, looking
in Your eyes stirs up with in me, cries that say I want to know You,
Oh I want to know you more, Oh I want to know your more."   (I don't know who wrote it,
                but Debbie Boone sang it).

OH Lord what a Morning!
Make everyday a day of Prayer

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.    Isaiah 40:31

The old familiar version. You know when I heard this again, I thought to myself, we surely are not to sit around and wait
on the Lord. The Lord has done His part. He came Himself to be the sacrifice for our sin. I believe He is waiting on us now to accept this sacrifice.

The New Living translation says in verse  - 31
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.

They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary, They will walk and not faint.

I like "trust" much better! If we trust in the Lord, (be patient; seek; and spend time with), we will find the strength we need to live "the abundant Life", that God so wants us to enjoy. We will go about our Living, soaring above the hum drum world around us. We will go through our days getting only tired in our body, we will face the next day with confidence
and assurance of a great tomorrow.

Teach me Lord to wait!

Have an "Abundant Life" day

                                               Jesus said...
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears    my voice and opens the door, I will come in..." Revelations 3:20 ...

                                       The Savior Is Waiting

The Savior is waiting to enter your heart,
why don't you let Him come in?
There's nothing in this world to keep
you apart, What is your answer to Him?

Time after time He has waited before,
And now He is waiting again
To see if you are willing to open the door,
O how He wants to come in!

One of my favorite Hymns by Ralph Carmichael.

I remember in my early 20s I was just married and we attended a rural church,
the one I had attended as a child. In those days a lot of, especially country churches
had a yearly Revival service, usually lasting 2 weeks. An Evangelist would be invited
and preach every evening on salvation of the soul. Like I said I had been raised in this
church, attending Sunday School and about everything that went on there.
Always at the end of the service we would sing the old hymn, "Just As I Am". I have
always loved this song and if you needed saved, this was the song to make you feel
guilty enough to get it done! Sometime we would sing the song as many as 5 or 6 times
with the evangelist or song leader stopping after each verse and plead with us for
someone to come to the alter and get saved.
Well I had this tugging at my heart every time we sang it and finally gave in and got my
nerve up to go. I even cried a little, but I was saved, and every time we sing this song
to this day I can sing think hallelujah in my heart.

If you have not experienced the saving power of Jesus, and you have a tugging in your
heart that you need to be saved, talk to a Pastor or good Christian friend, and they will
help you make the commitment!

What Is Man?

The Abundant Life - How do we get there?

I believe after we receive salvation, (being born again; saved, accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior) God puts His Holy Spirit into our spirit (our self inside the body).

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” Those who receive the gift of the Holy Ghost and remain worthy can enjoy His companionship throughout their lives. The Holy Ghost provides direction and comfort and testifies of truth."

Holy Bible, John 14:26

After our salvation, the Spirit begins to "nag" for use of a better word, you to do what He prefers you to do. But we have a throne in our spirit, and whoever we allow to sit on that throne is the ruler of our life. I believe the Spirit suggests to us what is best for us, but if we are on the throne, we will do what we want to do anyway. I do not think this prevents us from being Christian, but from having the Abundant Life, which God wants us to enjoy. The Lord God also gives to us Spiritual Gifts.  Gifts of the Holy Spirit enable us to live a holy Christian life. The Gifts of the Holy Spirit are:

1.Wisdom - desire for the things of God, and to direct our whole life and all our actions to His honor and glory
2.Understanding - enable us to know more clearly the mysteries of faith
3.Counsel - warn us of the deceits of the devil, and of the dangers to salvation
4.Fortitude - strengthen us to do the will of God in all things
5.Knowledge - enable us to discover the will of God in all things
6.Piety - love God as a Father, and obey Him because we love Him
7.Fear of the Lord - have a dread of sin and fear of offending God

If we do not follow the Lord God's direction, we cannot have the Abundant Life. So what we should do in our spiritual life is remove our self from the "throne" and practice the direction of the Holy Spirit. We have to know that God will do everything He says He will do (Faith). Listen to Him speaking to us. We need to set aside time everyday to ask the Lord to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, and create a clean heart within us. We are forgiven in God's sight of all the sins in our lives and we are worthy to commune with Him.

This is really a blessing, I can assure it. The more you do it the more you will want to.
Remember to quiet your self some of the time so that the Lord God can talk to you. Even ask Him questions and listen!

Abundant Living in my life is Fellowship with the Holy Spirit!             TRY IT
